Treated Timber Products through direct ownership, lease and management have over 17 000 ha of commercial timber plantations for our raw material requirements.
TTP in consultation with various nurseries and plant breeders are involved in the development of clonal saligna and grandis hybrids, designed to produce trees with perfect stem form, density and strength requirements.
Our plantations are grown on a 5 to 18 year cycle depending on the pole size required. The younger aged timber supplies the fencing and fruit trellising market, while older the trees supply the transmission and telecommunications markets.
The rotation policy we employ on the farms ensures that there is a constant supply of quality raw material coming into our treating facilities on a steady basis.
